Creative Project introducing: Francesca Lia Block.. I thoroughly enjoyed her book The Rose and The Beast. Many of the fairy tales she chose to retell gave such rich detail to nature. Her writing style made me want to be a wood nymph. One could almost feel and smell the elements as you found yourself lost in a tale you thought you knew so well.
I discovered more of her writings and her pursuit to share topics that might not have been popular to write about during the time they were originally published. It took 20 years for her Dangerous Angels series to win an award.
I shared a few of her quotes because they are incredibly empowering to young women (maybe if I'm completely honest - to this old woman as well).
I chose a "website" as the platform for this project because I was a content creator in a previous life, meaning before marriage and children, and it was what I knew best and felt most comfortable out of the suggestions provided.
Thank you for this class and these writing projects. It has been fun.
